Variety reminds us that Water is based on the best-selling historical novel by Sara Gruen about a Depression-era vet who joins the circus after his parents are killed. Richard LaGravenese (The Chronicles of Narnia: The Voyage of the Dawn Treader) is adapting the book for the big screen.
