Well, not exactly. But MovieWeb reports that Michael Petroni, who scripted The Voyage of the Dawn Treader, is currently working on a script for The Rite (2010) starring Anthony Hopkins, who played C. S. Lewis in Shadowlands (1993).
The Rite is adapted from a book by Matt Baglio and is based on true events. The story follows “a disillusioned American seminary student who attends exorcism school at the Vatican and ultimately finds his faith through encounters with demonic forces.”
Hopkins is going to play a priest who knows everything about exorcisms and whose methods are not traditional.
According to Slashfilm.com, Baglio’s book The Rite: The Making of a Modern Exorcist (2009)
is a journalistic account of the real-world practice of exorcism. Baglio followed a priest through his education in the Catholic Church’s actual exorcism school, and continued to chronicle his work as the priest apprenticed with an Italian exorcist.
IMDB: Petroni is also writing scripts for The Book Thief (2010), and The Long Green Shore (2012).
