Last week, James McAvoy (Mr. Tumnus), 30, and his wife Anne-Marie Duff, 39, announced they are expecting their first child. How does McAvoy feel about the news? “Amazing. Psychedelic. Excellent.” And at the London premiere of their latest film The Last Station last Thursday, when asked about the sex of the baby, McAvoy replied, “Don’t know, don’t care.” Congratulations, James and Anne-Marie!
In other news, Elijah Wood, who starred as Frodo Baggins in The Lord of the Rings trilogy, says he would love to see McAvoy as Bilbo Baggins in the upcoming adaptation of The Hobbit.
“I honestly love the initial rumor from way back when, which was James McAvoy. . . .
“I think he would be fantastic,” Wood said. “I’m a fan of his work and I think he’s the right age and I think that he has a quality to him that could fit quite nicely with what Ian Holm did in the first movie.”
