National Religious Broadcasters Convention Screens “Dawn Treader” [Updated]

nrb2010-150x150535pix-banner1In its mission statement, National Religious Broadcasters (NRB) says it “is a non-partisan, international association of Christian communicators whose member organizations represent millions of listeners, viewers and readers. Our mission is to keep the doors of electronic media open for the spread of the Gospel.” Keynote speakers and musicians at NRB’s annual convention in Nashville, Tennessee, this past weekend included Steve Green, Keith and Kristyn Getty, Precept Ministries founder Kay Arthur, Family Research Council President Tony Perkins, DC pastor Bishop Harry Jackson, writer and speaker Chuck Colson, and the Gaither Vocal Band.

Why does all this matter? NRB convention attendees witnessed raw footage of Fox’s Dawn Treader, “a three and a half minute collection of clips.” NarniaFans.com’s Paul Martin asked Ken Bowles, of Midwest Christian Media, to comment on what he saw at the convention, which yearly

UPDATE: on his Narnia Examiner blog, Mark Sommer reports that Focus on the Family’s Corporate Publicity Director Lisa Anderson mentioned the Dawn Treader presentation on Twitter.

Just saw a rough cut preview of Narnia’s “Voyage of the Dawn Treader,” set for release in December. It’s gonna be good.

  1. Nice write-up, AslansLily.
Just some clarification. The “water color preview of VDT” quote above from Ken Bowles is about the 2008 Convention where Disney presented a pre-visualization of the Dawn Treader. This year Fox presented “a three and a half minute collection of clips” of raw footage from the film – not a pre-vis.

  2. Thanks for the note, Mark. But I thought I got Disney’s water color preview vs Fox’s 3.5-minute clips part right. My mistake was calling the footage a “pre-vis” of sorts. [I thought your write-up was better, btw. :) ]
