A few weeks ago, we reported that the Bristol ship Matthew, which has been transformed into the Dawn Treader, would be at the National Maritime Museum in Falmouth, Cornwall, during “Narnia Weekend” (August 28-30). [This weekend is a national bank holiday in the UK.] According to Ilfracombe People, the ship is now in Ilfracombe harbor and is headed for Falmouth this Saturday! The transformed Matthew has
a majestic dragon’s head and tail to promote the movie which opens in cinemas in 2D and 3D on the 10th December 2010.
A visitor to the town told Ilfracombe People “I love the Narnia stories and when I saw the boat in Ilfracombe Harbour I was really impressed and excited. It was such a lovely surprise and has really made my day-I felt like I’d been transported into the novel!”
According to ShipShapeBristol.co.uk (pdf file), the ship’s final destination will be London. Click here for the full story and more photos.
NarniaFans admin Paul Martin will be in the UK this week (or next week?) and will provide video and photo coverage of the Matthew/Dawn Treader. He’s also getting married this weekend. Congratulations, Paul and Courtney on your wedding! And thanks to NarniaWeb and NarniaFans for the story and links!
