The Daily Record (Edinburgh) recently interviewed Will Poulter (Eustace – VDT) about his upcoming appearance at The Fringe, in which “more than 20,000 performers will put on nearly 2500 shows.” Will and his friends will perform some sketches from School of Comedy.
The Daily Record also talked with Will about his role in VDT. Interestingly, he discussed book-to-movie changes for Eustace.
It was nerve-wracking taking on a character who is so well-known. Everyone has a picture of Eustace and how he is.
Trying to encapsulate that was daunting. I’m sure I haven’t been able to do that but I hope I’ve done my best. I know it’s annoying reading book then seeing a film and being disappointed with the character.
Will said Skandar (Edmund) and Georgie (Lucy) gave him advice on capturing Eustace on screen, but Will seemed a bit worried since “it was too early to know how it will feel to be in such a big movie with so many fans around the world.”
We support you, Will! You’ll make a fine Eustace!

” Trying to encapsulate that was daunting. ” For a young fellow he sure does have a big vocabulary!
