David Arnold Records “Dawn Treader” Score

NarniaWeb reports that David Arnold is now recording the score for The Voyage of the Dawn Treader! From Arnold’s Twitter feed:

August 31: 12x 7 day weeks worth of composition,87 piece orchestra,40 piece choir,Wardrobe is open….Narnia start tomorrow………..

September 1: World is not Enough on TV, same day I start recording Narnia with the same director I did that Bond movie with. aaah…how we laughed…

September 2: Narnia Day 2. Aslan and Lucy are in the bedroom talking about Edmund….

And today, September 3, in the last hour:

Aslan himself, Liam Neeson, popped into studio today. He must have liked it as he didnt give me one of those stern talking tos

Day 3 of Dawn Treader done…..no prizes for guessing which day we do tomorrow.

“Aslan and Lucy are in the bedroom talking about Edmund”: I wonder what that means. Shouldn’t it be Edmund and Lucy talking about Eustace? I’m just a bit confused.

Anyway, David Arnold also recorded the score for Amazing Grace (2006), which was also directed by Michael Apted. On Twitter, Arnold said this score was his favorite. Let’s hope Dawn Treader becomes another favorite for Arnold, Apted, the musicians, and all the cast and crew! Can’t wait for December!
