Fox Home Entertainment is placing Dawn Treader ship standees in 3,000 supermarkets nationwide. These displays, which occupy approximately 3 feet by 8 feet of floor space, are quite impressive little replicas of the Dawn Treader ship, and will be accompanied by the DVD and items such as Coca-Cola and Little Debbie.
Mary Daily, executive VP of marketing for Twentieth Century Fox Home Entertainment says that ”there are over six million shoppers a day that will see the Dawn Treader ship as they enter their local grocery store. Our intention is to engage the active mom and her family with a clear, unique and impactful experience.”
Variety informs us that the displays will be set up at the entrances of stores owned by Kroger, Safeway, SuperValu, Giant Eagle and H-E-B. Certainly this will attract much attention from shoppers.

I have a few small displays/posters as well as a lot of Narnia related toys/ merchandise. None of the stores mentioned are in my area (New York State), so I guess I will keep on drooling!!!!

The original article (http://www.variety.com/article/VR1118035099?refCatId=13) mentions this: “The presence won’t replace high-profile distribution deals for the “Voyage of the Dawn Treader” at big-three retailers Walmart, Target and Best Buy, which will push their own exclusive versions of the disc.” I noticed in a Walmart (Sam’s Club) catalog that they were selling a single disc Blu-ray version which was “only at Walmart.” So I guess those three stores are doing their own promotion/distribution deals…
I just saw that in my super market! Of course it didn’t have the DVD’s yet but it will at midnight!!!!!

Haha that’s awesome! I didn’t they’d do something as cool as that…maybe they’re trying to make up for the semi-lack of advertising in the US before the movie came out!
They did play a lot of commercials (even my non-Narniac friends knew what was going to happen on April 8!) … but yes, this store thing will probably help a ton!
Agreed. Where were the television interviews for VDT, the way there has been for “Soul Surfer”? No comparison! The promotion for “Soul Surfer,” coming out today in theaters, was so good that it’s featured on Yahoo’s homepage! [1-48 stuff]

The one at my Wal-mart was just a big cardboard square with the Dvd cover on it. But, it was the only place in my county that had the double Dvd pack. (which is what I bought
)
That’s exactly what I did!
I went to Albertsons to see the ship display, but I bought the double DVD pack at Walmart. 
Just got the dvd! My famil and I are now watching it!! The display was awsome! Got the three disc set!

We don’t know specifics. Just check to see if a grocery store chain is in your area. The chain is what matters, not the specific state. I’m pretty sure Safeway and Giant Eagle are in the Virginia/DC/Maryland area. H-E-B = ?

Since my Mom works for Kroger, she actually talked to her manager about buying the ship after the display period is over. There is going to be a silent auction and because most of her co-workers don’t seem too interested, it looks as if I’ll have this beautiful replica to grace my room. I’ll have to clear a lot out though. I’m sure it will take up quite a bit of space. Ha Ha.
