The Last Battle

In the last days of Narnia, when Tirian is king, rumors are spread that Aslan has returned. Excited about this news, Tirian and his friend Jewel the Unicorn, investigate the matter, only to discover that the Calormenes have enslaved the Narnians – supposedly under Aslan’s order. Tirian and Jewel expect the worst and surrender themselves to the Calormenes to find out what is happening.

In reality, Shift, a cunning but evil ape, has forced Puzzle, an ignorant, witless donkey, to wear the skin of a lion and pretend to be Aslan. Shift heartlessly orders the Narnians to work in slavery to the Calormenes and soon has rule over Narnia. In the mean time, Tirian has been tied up, but he calls to the Kings and Queens of old in a dream, and is soon rescued by Jill and Eustace, who returned back to Narnia.

Jill discovers Puzzle, but before they can show him to the Narnians, the last battle of Narnia breaks out, and the Narnians must choose which side they’re standing for: Tirian or Shift. The old stable that previously housed Puzzle has become a terror to all, who believe that Tash or another great power lies inside. But when Tirian is thrown into the stable, he finds himself under a queit blue sky where he meets the friends of Narnia from the other world.

Meanwhile, outside the stable door, the Narnians are fighting a losing battle against the growing Calormene army. However, the real Aslan soon appears and brings it all to an end with the end of Narnia forever. All Narnians who chose the side of Shift, disappear in the shadow of Aslan, and the loyal Narnians go to Aslan’s Country. The friends of Narnia meet all their old friends from the previous adventures and together with the Narnians they can stay forever in Aslan’s Country – the last chapter in the Narnia Chronicles: but for those in Aslan’s Country, it is simply the beginning of an eternal and joyous time with Aslan himself.
